Seit Jahrzehnten klingen dem Künstler Fragmente eines Liedes im Ohr nach, das seine Mutter, seit er sich erinnern kann, immer wieder vor sich hinsang. Die Strophe erzählt von einem Segelboot auf dem Mittelmeer. Erblickt man es, packt einem die Sehnsucht. Ob das Lied aus Palästina stammt, ist nicht bekannt. Doch spürt es dem Rhythmus den Wellen nach, intoniert ein hörbares Vorwärts- und Vorankommen. Auf seiner Recherche traf Wafa Mar'i auf einen älteren Mann, der weitere Fragmente zu singen wusste. Um die im Lied eingeschlossene Energie herauszutreiben, bat der Künstler eine Sängerin und einen Sänger, die Strophe auf Basis des vorhandenen Wissens neu zu singen. Was nun klingt wie ein Lied, sind in Wahrheit zusammen gefügte Einzelstimmen, die in einen Chor geführt werden, dann wieder auseinander driften, um sich erneut zu finden und wieder zu verlieren.

Throughout his youth, the artist heard his mother sing a song, but only a fragment. The strophe tells about a sailing boat that when seen causes one to feel a longing for home.
Whether or not the original song originates in Palestine is unknown as well as all of the song’s lyrics. Looking for more information, the artist found a man who knew a bit more of the song. While remaining incomplete and mysterious, (name of work) tracks the rhythm of the waves and the process of moving on. To emphasize the energy of the song, he asked two more singers to sing the strophe. What sounds like a song is actually artificially assembled looped voices that meet and depart, meet and depart over and over again.
